Building on the success and popularity of the 2010 Gala, this year’s Gala will again be a 4-day event, running from Thursday 9th June through to Sunday 12th June.

As always the Community Assocation require a lot of help from villagers to make the Gala weekend a great success. If you wish to help out in any way please contact a member of the Community Association or call Donald on 07971 303944.

Grand Prize Draw - £2,500 for your 'holiday of a lifetime'

In partnership with Kenneth MacLeod Travel Ltd we are having a Grand Prize Draw for a £2,500 'holiday of a lifetime.' The prize allows you to chose a complete holiday package worth £2,500 that you could tailor to your own tastes, or alternatively you could use the prize to put towards a holiday of greater value. Kenneth MacLeod Travel Ltd are also offering £250 spending money or a set of luggage to that value. We also have a fabulous 2nd prize of a trip for two with Loch Lomond Seaplanes from Luss, which includes an overnight stay at Culag luxury lochside guest house.

Tickets can be obtained from the Box office at the Community Centre at the following times:

• Tuesday 24th May – 6pm to 8pm.
• Wednesday 25th May – 6pm to 8pm.
• Tickets for the draw will also be available on Saturday 11th June, which is the day of the Gala, and is also the day when the grand prize draw will take place.

Ticket Prices:

• Ladies Pamper night (Thursday): £2 each (over 18's only).
• Country & Western Family Disco (Friday): £2.50 adult, £1.50 child (2-16 yrs), under 2's free.
• Grand prize draw: £2.50.

Thursday 9th June - Ladies Pamper Night

7.30pm - 10.30pm

We are holding a Girls Pamper Evening in the Marquee from 7.30pm till 10.30pm. We have our very own cocktail barman for the evening. Beauty therapists will be available to do bite-size beauty treatments
from £5.00. So if you fancy an Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Neck and Shoulder Massage, your nails done or a top-up in the tanning booth please come along and join in the fun. Due to licensing laws this is a strictly over 18 event.

Tickets are priced £2 each and include a complimentary drink on arrival as well as the chance to boogie at the disco later in the evening. Tickets are available directly from Bobbie McCabe and, if not already sold out by that time, will also be available from the gala box office.

• Bite-size beauty treatments from £5.
• Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Neck and Shoulder Massage, Nails, Tanning Booth.
• Over 18's only. Licensed event.

Friday 10th June - Country & Western Disco!

7pm - 10.30pm in the Marquee

The Friday night family disco sets the theme for the Gala weekend, which this year will be Country & Western. So dust off your Stetsons from 5 years ago and come along and join us in the marquee for some rootin’-tootin’ fun with our live band Ellis County.

Tickets will be available from the box office on 24th and 25th May and there will be a prize for best dressed adult and best dressed child.

Saturday 11th June - Gala Day!

12noon to 7pm!

There will be many activities, events and stalls at the Gala Day. Entry is free, so come along and enjoy a day out with the family.

Activities, events and stalls will include:

• The Grand Opening! The Gala will begin at 12noon with the Grand Opening of the Gala followed by the crowning of the Gala King and Queen.
• Various attractions - there will be kids rides, inflatables, stalls from community groups, the Grand Prize Draw and the return of Wemyss Bay’s Got Talent where everyone will no doubt be eager to see a performance from last year's winners 'The Hula Kings.'
• Craft fair - there will be a Craft Village in the grounds of the Community Centre from 12-4pm. It will feature the work of local designers and makers and give you the opportunity to buy something a little bit different for yourself, family or friends. 10% of all sales on the day will go towards the cost of the Gala so not only will you be supporting local enterprise but also your local community. • Wemyss Bay's Got Talent - singing, dancing, comedy, whatever talent you have, this is your opportunity to perform! Application forms available from the Spar Shop in Wemyss Bay.
• Guides will be running the tea room, the cake and candy stall, the coconut shy, and possibly balls in a bucket as well!
• Youth Club are doing a Meercat Tombola and Treasure Hunt and will also be selling 50p sweet mixtures.
• Beat the Keeper - run by Bible Club and Youth Group. £1 for 3 shots! Are you up for the challenge?
• Easyski System Ski slope.
• Mini-fairground.
• Bouncy castle.
• Licensed bar.
• Gladiator podium and bungee run.
• Fire juggler.
• Face painting.
• Think Science will perform experiments and have a stall.
• Dip & Doodle.
• Pampered Chef demo and stall.
• Balloon modeller.

Sunday 12th June - AFD Gala Day

11am to 3pm - Prizegiving and Events

Ardgowan Football Development's Annual Gala Day will take place on Sunday 12th June. This is Ardgowans 10th Gala!

With over 200 kids in attendance they make full use of the grassed area the 3G pitch and the marquee. Throughout the afternoon parents and family will have the chance to watch their kids display the football skills that they have learned over the past year and to see them presented with their certificates and trophies.
