Stuart McMillan MSP SNP has today (Thursday) welcomed the news from the Minister for Transport, Keith Brown MSP, that upgrade works on the A78 Bankfoot Roundabout is to be completed by March 2012.
Mr McMillan received the news in a follow-up letter, dated 22nd February 2012, from the Minister for Transport indicating works to improve the skidding resistance at the roundabout has now been programmed to be completed by the end of March 2012.
Mr. McMillan said, "I am delighted to receive the news, from the SNP Government, that upgrade works on the A78 Bankfoot Roundabout is to be completed by the end of March 2012.
"This has been a long standing issue, since the creation of the roundabout, which predates the SNP Government coming to power in 2007.
"Improved road safety measures on the A78 Trunk Road is a campaign I have led, on behalf of constituents, for sometime now as we feel the upgrade is required to provide better safety conditions.
"Therefore, this announcement demonstrates the SNP Government is listening to the people of Inverclyde and taken action to address road safety issues."
