The P S Mercury leaving Wemyss Bay, probably between 1923 and 1933
when it was withdrawn. The remains of Kelly House, burnt down in 1913,
can be seen in the background.

| Willie Boyd, Wemyss Bay Piermaster,
took photos every Sunday, and in
between, these were mailed to his daugher Jennie's husband George
Elliot, serving with
RAF in the Middle East, and to his son Hugh Boyd, with RAMC in
France. He was taken Prisoner at St Valerie in 1941, age
21 years, and spent 4 years in a prisoner of war camp in Poland. |

boxes of early Clyde paddle steamers. Does anyone know where are

Willie Boyd's prize winning floral displays inside
the station. All the plants were started in the greenhouse behind
the Station Master's house. There were 2 of these stands, several
flower boxes and hanging baskets.

Remembrance Day 1948 service at
the War Memorial. Good attendance. Several men from Wemyss
Bay and Skelmorlie served in WW2.
