About Ardgowan Football Development
At AFD we run training sessions on a Sunday from 9.30am to 4.45pm. Each kid who joins is given kit consisting of shirt, shorts, socks and either hoody for P1 to P2 or rain jacket and under armour P3 to P7.  P1 to P2 sessions are held in Wemyss Bay Community Centre and P3 to P7 sessions held outside on the astrograss. Sessions will last for around an hour and quarter inside and an hour and a half outside.

Our aim is to develop your child's football skills no matter how talented they may be.

AFD has teams that play in The Paisley and Johnstone District leagues called Ardgowan Thistle Football Club (ATFC).

At AFD a one off fee is paid on joining (£70). If parents support any of the fund raising events we have during the year we can keep the fee down to this one fee. These events consist of the annual race night and £1000 raffle which takes place in March. This is very well attended.

We close at the beginning of December as the hall is decorated for the festive season. We then take the kids to Greenock Sportscentre for a Christmas Fun Day which is the conclusion to the year.

At the end of the season in June we organise a Gala day where all kids are paraded in front of their parents to show their skills they have learned over the year. They are then presented with a trophy and certificate, by a special guest, for their efforts. A newsletter is distributed every 3 months to keep all parents informed of the events through the season.

If you have any queries regarding AFD please call the club mobile or come and talk to one of the committee members.

A 5-day summer Bible Club, from the 3rd to the 7th of August that year, preceded the start of the regular weekly club.

Bring along the kids to enjoy the spiral slides and rope bridges all set in a pirate ship called The Giggling Racara. Adults don’t get left out either and are actively encouraged to participate. The 4 lane Astro Slide is a popular choice with the more mature clientele!

They also have the UK's first inflatable Superclimb which is a huge 23ft climbing wall with a stomach churning slide at the other end.

They offer some great facilities that the adults can use while the kids are playing, with a cafe serving home cooked food by our resident chef, as well as cakes, pastries, home baking and freshly brewed Italian Coffee. While you are relaxing you can use the free WiFi service.

The centre is also available for kids parties and can be booked for adult or corporate events. Take a look at their party packages.

Inverclyde Amateur Swimming Club is a swimming club for children and young people.

The club's aim is not to produce Champions, but to create an environment in which Champions are inevitable.

Inverclyde ASC was formed in 1978 from two clubs who had had a long history of success within the GB and Scottish swim scene. The two clubs involved were the Greenock ASC (founded in 1964) and the Port Glasgow Baths ASC (founded in the early 1900′s). This success has included both national Championships and representatives within the National Team.

The Club has continued to work extremely hard in maintaining a quality service, in terms of teaching both water skills and water safety to the children within the local community it serves. The Club Management Committee and coaches continue to strive to enhance the club within Inverclyde and the surrounding areas.
